Annette's obituary

Annette M. Langkopf (Serino), age 52, of Dracut, formerly of Melrose, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 3, 2022, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Annette was born in Medford, MA, on October 28, 1969; she was the cherished daughter of Mary Lou and the late Albert Serino. Annette was the youngest of four siblings who were raised in a loving home. She was a graduate of Melrose High School and attended classes at UMass Lowell.

Annette was special from the start; she was independent, brave, feisty and fearless; upbeat and optimistic. These were attributes she would carry throughout her life and they served her well as she fought and survived childhood cancer, married best friend Jason and became a Mom to Connor whom she adored. He was the gift she prayed for.

Annette worked as a dental assistant for many years; most recently at Sarah Haven Davis, DMD and was previously a dedicated employee at Maha Boutrous DMD.

Annette married her love, Jason Langkopf, on November 12, 2000; the couple settled in Dracut where they raised their Connor. Annette cherished her role as a Mom and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her child. Annette was very involved in Connor’s Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops; she was a Committee Member of Scouts BSA Troop 25 since March of 2014 and Committee Chair from 2018-2021. She was so proud of Connor the Eagle Scout and treasured every moment she spent with him. She also loved watching Jason paddling down the Connecticut River while reading peacefully on the river bank.

Annette enjoyed her summers spent in Truro and Point Sebago with family and friends; everyone always had a great time and countless memories were made. Annette loved spending time with her nieces and nephews; she was the fun loving auntie, a great listener and a friend to them all.

Annette will be fondly remembered for her strength, bravery and her fierce love of Connor, Jason and all her family. She was fun, loving, generous, never judgmental and honest. She was sassy, real, down to earth and a fighter. She loved her Momma with all her heart.

Annette always said “Everything is okay, we are all going to be okay”. We will be, but will always have a hole in our heart only she could fill.

Annette was the loyal and loving wife of Jason Langkopf, devoted mother of Connor Jackson Langkopf both of Dracut, cherished daughter of Mary Lou (Reel) and the late Albert Serino of Melrose, adored sister of Jeannie Nasiff & husband Mark and Terri Furlong & husband Michael all of Wilmington and Christopher Serino & wife Michelle of Beverly. Special Auntie of Matthew, Lauren, Sean, Kim, Alex, Paul, Quinn, Stephen, Carolyn, Jackie and Tyler, beloved daughter-in-law of Andrew and Debbie Langkopf. Annette is also survived by her sister and brothers-in-law Allison, Benjamin and Jonathan Langkopf and their families. She leaves behind her 4 beloved kitties, especially her favorite, Mitzi.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, April 9th from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
