Annette's obituary
Born and raised in the Ironbound/Down Neck section of Newark, NJ, then lived in Clifton, NJ, she was the loving daughter of deceased Michael and Carmella (Millie) Lanza (nee Martucci) of Toms River, NJ.
Annette was 71 years young. She and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C., after her retirement two (2) years ago.
Annette left behind her husband of 50 years, George H., her sister Liz Mauncele, and her loving niece and nephews.
She has always been active with many friends, beginning in St. James High School as a basketball team chair leader. She enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, roller skating, dancing, ice skating, racket ball, backgammon, shopping, music, and even horse racing.
Annette was well known in Fairlawn, New Jersey, where she owned and operated her business, Regal Collection Agency, for over 35 years. She was active in many organizations, including the Fairlawn Chamber of Commerce where she was on the Board of Directors for over 10 years; she held the Chamber’s position of Ambassador for a number of years. She was a member of the Notary Public Commission, involved with the Bergen County Special Services Technical School, and the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners, Bergen County chapter, which awarded her Business Woman of the Year in 2003.
Anyone who knew Annette, knew how much she enjoyed life and people. She had a sunshine personality with quick humor and an infectious laugh. She was blessed with the ability to only see the good in people. Her love, kindness, and generosity helped many people, and charitable organizations over the years.
Her favorite vacations were cruises, trips to Las Vegas, and Aruba. One of her hobbies was attending North Jersey’s ‘Tricky Tray Events”. And she often won!
Annette chose to be cremated in Myrtle Beach, and have her ashes brought to Fairlawn and Clifton, NJ. The family is planning a Memorial, a Celebration of her life, in June 2021, in the Fairlawn NJ area. Announcement will be made once arrangements are settled on.
As we who knew Annette the best, also knew she loved children!!
She could never accept that children could be inflicted with cancer. Anyone looking to make a memorial donation in her name, can do so to:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

"People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in; their true beauty is revealed
only if there light is from within."
By Elizabeth Kubler Ross
Annette loved life, her family and friends. She always brightened the lives of others. Annette was adored and loved by all who knew her; she will be
missed, but never forgotten!!
