Anne's obituary

Anne (Anna) Pustey - Aug 8, 1926 - Aug 28, 2021

Born on a farm outside (southeast) of Rosthern, Sask, to Mike Marchuk and Katherine (nee Boison). Who immigrated from Ukraine and settled on the farm in Canada near Saskatoon. Anne was born 2 years later, Aug 8, 1926. The oldest of 5 girls. 

Anne grew up going to to Adamiwka School, a few miles up the road from the Marchuk farm.

She met her husband Michael Pustey, at a community dance, who also lived on a nearby farm, east of Rosthern. They married in 1946.

Moved to Saskatoon shortly after, had one son, Theodore Pustey,in 1947.

They opened a restaurant called, "Kibbitz Inn" which they ran for 3 years, and lived in while they worked there.Her husband Michael worked his regular job, as well as helped in the restaurant butchering and tying meat late into the evenings.  Her son, "Teddy" would share sausage with the neighbor kids.

During this time, their first and only house was being built. Constructed by her husband with his own 2 hands.

They Built their own home on Broadway Ave, and settled there in 1954, where her husband eventually passed away. They had lived there for over 50 years.

Anne worked for Fuller Brush Company, as a door-to-door sales woman.

Anne loved volunteer work and participating in dance clubs, like pattern dancing. Anne won a pattern dancing award. Her last club she participated in, she was a member of the Saskalone dance club.

Anne loved gardening, baking, dancing, listening or dancing to polka music. She loved filling her freezer full of garden vegetables, and baking goods. She was a real social butterfly. Visiting others and chatting whenever she got the chance.

Anne loved doing things for others, always giving, generous heart, going out of her way to help others, opening her home to other family members if they needed a place to stay for awhile. Giving away things without a second thought or a blink.

4 sisters: Mary Yablonski, Stella Hryciw, Arlene Blocha, Frieda Kalist (2018)

Parents: Michael and Katherine (nee Boison) Marchuk.

Half Brother: Bill Marchuk

Survived by her mother-in-law Linda Pustey (nee Dobson), 3 grandkids,(Maleesa, Thebin, Donelle). 9 great grandkids,4 great-great grandkids, as well as several neices and nephews.
