Anne Stone Murphy, 70, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 5, 1954, the daughter of Robert McGhee Stone and Margaret Prince Flowe Stone, granddaughter of Connie Prince Flowe Brown. She was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, brother Neil Stone, and husband of 33 years, James "Pat" Murphy.

Anne was a 1972 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. She attended Central Piedmont Community College to obtain a degree in Emergency Medical Services. She then became an EMT for several years, serving the Charlotte area. She was also employed by IBM as a safety administrator, where she met her future husband, Pat. From 1991 thru 2009 she was employed by Cadmus Communications as a prepress tech. She retired in 2009.

She loved living on the lake and tending to her beloved array of animals and her beautiful gardens. She had a menagerie of critters including dogs, horses, cats and even a bird "Mort". He too has passed away.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Karen Spainhour (Rick), nieces Laura, Crystal Murphy, her two stepsons, Chris Murphy of Louisville, KY and Timothy Murphy (April) of Benton, KY, grandchildren Myla, Michael, Matthew, greatgrandchildren Lainey and Calvin.

Anne was an animal lover and was survived by her three cats, Blueberry, Bug and Bubba Moonpie. In lieu of flowers, contriubtions may be made to Bit O' Luck Horse Rescue in Huntersville.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home, 3362 N. Hwy 16, Denver, NC on Saturday, September 21 from Noon to 2 pm.
