Erin, your family is so special to me. I had the privilege to know your mom because your dad gave me my first real paying job at thrifty drug store. So many years ago. Even through I haven't seen them in years I offend thought of them. My sincere thoughts and prayers are there for your dad and your whole family.

Lenny and I are very sorry for the loss of your mom. While we only met her once we can see and feel a lot about her in your creativity. Plus, she and I share a birth place. I bet had we dug deep enough her life would have intersected with my family either in Oildale or Bakersfield. It was a small town back in the day of our folks.

My momma still adores the quilt your mom made that you gifted to her while she was in the hospital. She keeps it on her bed. Your mom was very good at her quilting.

Prayers for you and your family as you navigate the one two punch of loss. Never easy, especially so close together. Rely on one another, lean in hard to your faith and immerse yourself in the tender memories.
