Annabelle's obituary

Annabelle Shillinglaw, born on November 24, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024. Predeceased by her husband, Mike Shillinglaw; her father, John Connolly; her mother, Ann Connolly and her sister, Stella Connolly; she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and hope.

She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Bethany Semore, and son-in-law, Dan Semore; son David Bodero and son-in-law Dominic Bodero; daughter, Nancy Hurst; sister Marianne Ryan and brother-in-law Vin Ryan. Additionally, she is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Tasha Carroll;Tommy Waddle; Timmy Waddle; Jammie Oliver and spouse, Kevin Oliver;  David Brissette and spouse, Jessica Brissette; Samantha Engelun and spouse, Paul Engelun; Tina Colouris; Justin Senyk and Britaney Senyk; cherished nieces and nephews, Melanie Ryan and spouse, Ken Fenton; Ted Ryan and spouse, HeatherRyan; Laura Capado and spouse, Aaron Capado; and Joe Ryan and spouse, Stephanie Ryan. She also adored her many, many great grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews.

Annabelle had a passion for life, beautifully reflected in her love for Chinese food, pink champagne cake, breads, and Irish Breakfast Tea. She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying the works of Clive Cussler. Her love for music was deep, particularly Home free and Neil Diamond. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows Midsomer Murders, Dr. Who and disaster movies and loved the movie China Doll. Eileen Sorg's art was a particular favorite of hers.

Her passion extended into her career as well, having worked at Sluy's Bakery, then at Little Boston Library. Annabelle was not just a dedicated worker but also an active community member. She was an online attendee at the Hansville Community Church, a volunteer at OVAC Olympic Vintage Auto Club, and an organizer at KRL Little Boston Crafternoon.

Annabelle is remembered for her love of games, especially Blokus, Monopoly, and most board games. She took great joy in watching the Nutcracker performance and her favorite activities for relaxation were knitting, reading, listening to music, and watching TV. She was fond of chair and bed exercises, enjoyed her vacation on the beach, and loved spending time at local spots like Puerto Vallarta Restaurant, Grub Hut Restaurant, and Eglon Beach.

With a big-hearted, loving, caring, and sincere personality, Annabelle deeply cared for causes including Beck's Place, RED, and Fowler Herd. The best lessons she had to share were how to live life to the fullest and how to be kind and generous to your friends, family, as well as strangers. She was proud of her accomplishment of winning 3rd place in the Great American Race Post-War in Kitsap County in 1996.

Her legacy will continue to inspire through her deep love for her family, the vibrant memories she has left behind, and the lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
