Anna Marie Stukenholtz, 72, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023, at CHI Medical Center – Bergan Mercy.

Per Anna’s request, there will not be a funeral service. But please join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. We will gather to share some of our favorite memories and stories and remember the wonderful aunt, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed.

Anna Marie Stukenholtz was born on August 30, 1950, to Stanley and Jean (Newton) Stukenholtz in St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended school at West Monona High School in Onawa, Iowa and graduated in 1968. She then received her teaching degree at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska. She was able to continue her education and receive her master’s degree. Anna dedicated her life to the community of Council Bluffs, educating and inspiring students to pursue their dreams. Her passion for teaching allowed her to pursue a lifelong career in education until retiring from Lewis Central Community School in 2012.

Anna enjoyed crafting and was an avid reader. After retirement, she enjoyed her weekly Mahjongg sessions at the senior center and her monthly luncheons with her teachers’ group. She had many important friends in her life. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
