Ann's obituary

Ann Diane Whitaker, 71 of Harrison passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday,

January 27, 2024. Ann was born February 19, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of

Homer Dale and Nancy Ann (Parker) Blackledge. Mrs. Whitaker had resided in Harrison

since 1992, moving from Beaverton, Michigan.

Ann spent many years as a school bus driver and school employee. She enjoyed going to

the movies, traveling with her sisters, going on shopping sprees and spending time with

family. Ann was an avid supporter of Harrison athletics and could often be heard from the

bleachers. Ann will always be remembered for her generosity and the way that she was

always helping others.

Surviving Mrs. Whitaker is two daughters; Kelli Whitaker of Harrison and Jennifer Sizemore

and husband Jamie of Harrison, one son, Kasey Whitaker and wife Carrie of Harrison, her

seven grandchildren, two great-grand children and three sisters; Lynn Gust of Sanford, Gail

Dunham of Harrison, and Patty Whisenant and husband Tom of Tucson, Arizona plus many

nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ann was preceded in death by her

husband Kerry Whitaker and her parents,

A memorial celebration honoring Ann will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at

her son and daughter-in-law's home, 979 Old State Road, Harrison, Michigan 48625. The

family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider contributing to the Ann

Whitaker Scholarship (in care of Carrie Whitaker/Members First Credit Union).
