Ann Marie Thomas – Adoring mother, daughter, caregiver to all, and friend.

Ann Marie Thomas of Bloomfield Hills, MI, passed away on January 20th, 2023. She was a beloved mother, teacher, author, and friend to all who knew her.

Ann Marie was born on March 28th, 1953 in Michigan, USA, and was raised in Northville, MI. She was the second of five children; Ellen (b 1951), Ann, Bruce [Chip] (b 1955, d 2009), Susan (b 1960), and Jason (b 1968).

After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a teaching degree.

In 1974, Ann moved to South Australia with her family, where she spent the next almost 40 years of her life. She was a beloved teacher of primary school-aged children in Australia, and since the early 2000’s she has specialised in teaching children with special learning needs. Ann was known for her dedication to her students, many of whom she reconnected with in her later life.

When her parents, Bruce and Ruth Thomas, returned to the US after four years, she remained in Australia with her younger brother Chip. When her parents, Bruce and Ruth Thomas, returned to the US after four years, she remained in Australia with her younger brother Chip.

In her spare time, Ann wrote books. As an avid reader and writer, she split her time between writing over 50 educational resources and information books for teaching younger children and writing fiction novels. She published under both Ann Thomas and T S Teller.

In 2010, Ann Marie moved back to the United States to look after her aging parents Bruce and Ruth. She was a dedicated daughter who always put her parents first, forever the caregiver and nurturer.

Throughout her life, she has always been an incredible source of knowledge, love and care. As a deeply spiritual woman, she always saw the best in people and treated everyone with compassion and care.

Ann Marie is survived by her father, Bruce Rutherford Thomas, son, Jacob Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Duong. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
