Ann's obituary
Ann Lege, 89, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully, Friday, December 22, 2023 with her children by her side.
Ann was born September 1, 1934 in Port Arthur, TX to Leonard & Daisy (Pinder) Claxton.
Ann is survived by a daughter, Lyn Lege of Pearland; two sons, Clint Lege of New Caney and Troy Lege of Houston; 3 grandchildren Dustin Lege of Mont Belvieu, Darren Lege of Kingwood & Amber Zeno of Dayton; 6 great grandchildren, a cousin, Claxton Barlow of Houston and several lifelong friends who she considered family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Royce Lege to whom she was married to for 67 years, and both of her parents.
After raising two of three children as residents of Groves, Texas for over 20 years, she and her husband, Royce moved to Houston until the fall of 1987 when he retired and they relocated to enjoy the sugar white sands of the Panhandle beaches near Destin, Florida. In 2005, they returned to Texas to live on Lake Livingston in Onalaska to be closer to their children who were all living in and around the Houston surrounding areas. Ann's dedication to her family was unmatched and her ability to create a warm and welcoming haven; for not only her family, but for anyone visiting her and Royce made you feel truly special!
Ann loved the beach, making new friends, warm sunny days, crocheting, playing cards, shopping, cats, entertaining friends and family, dancing and probably single handedly kept The Coca-Cola company in business throughout the years with her avid love of the soft drink, Coke!
To honor Ann's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. We invite you to privately celebrate her memory in your own ways. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Kids Free Clothing Exchange (KFCE), Alzheimer’s research or a charity of your choice, keeping Ann's legacy of kindness alive.
