Anita's obituary
Anita Snider of Albany, Oregon, died on January 12, 2024, at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
She was born on June 4, 1952, to Robert and Alice Oswald, in Albany. She was the first of their four children.
She graduated from Albany Union High School in 1970.
Anita married Gene Snider on January 21, 1971, at the First Presbyterian Church of Albany. Anita and Gene were blessed with two children: Heather Brown and Ryan Snider.
Gene was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Germany, where Anita and Gene lived from 1972 to 1974. They were able to spend several weeks a year traveling all over Europe and enjoyed the company of a few family members who came over to vacation with them. It was during this time that Anita expanded her cooking skills to new heights.
Anita was a great listener, and she would make space to listen to her family or anyone who needed an attentive ear. She loved and followed Jesus and often shared her beliefs with others. She was known for her kind spirit and her big smile. She loved to cook and share her creations with loved ones. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, watching the hummingbirds. She was a great seamstress and could play the piano by ear.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Gene, children Heather and Ryan, and siblings Walt Oswald, David Oswald, and Mary Trammell.
