Anita's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anita Smith-Harris, aged 67, on December 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Sacramento, CA, and has been a resident of Lansing, MI, for the last 36 years.. She was a person who experienced both beautiful moments and difficult battles throughout her life.

Though Anita faced many struggles, she was much more than her challenges. She loved being involved in the ministry and teaching others about Jehovah. Her favorite scripture was “Give Jehovah the glory due his name.” —PS. 96:8,  and she would share this joy with her family and friends. Her journey was difficult, but her strength and moments of light will be remembered. She had an undeniable impact on those around her.

She is survived by her family, Her brothers Gary and Warren “Eddie”. Her Children: Amber(Kevin), Lasean(Henry), Colleen, Desiré, Crystal (Eric), and Curtis (Jessica). Her Grandchildren Shayla, Nathan, Zachary, Leia, Leilani “Lani,” Naomi, Xander, Kiera, and many more grandchildren, Foster children, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, W. June Grant, her father, Jessie Hill, her brother, James “Jimbo” Strothers, and her stepdaughter, Yolanda Smith. We honor her memory, choosing to remember her courage, her laughter, and the times of joy she shared with us.

A memorial service will be held on Zoom on January 4,2024.
