Anissa's obituary
**Anissa Audrey Ramey-Payton**
Anissa Audrey Ramey-Payton was born into the loving arms of her family on January 31, 2026, at 7:43 p.m. in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Weighing 6 pounds and 7 ounces and measuring 19 inches long, Anissa made her unexpected and untimely arrival into this world and departed the same day. Though her time with us was brief, her impact is everlasting.
Anissa was such a happy and active baby during her time with us. She found joy in listening to music, hearing her big sister read stories aloud, and snuggling close with the family’s beloved cat, Mushu. Though we didn’t get to know her in the way we had hoped, she will always be a part of us—woven into the fabric of our hearts and our family’s story.
She is survived by her devoted parents, Summer Ramey and Diquan Payton; her cherished big sister, Nayomi Ramey-Payton; maternal grandparents Trish Moore, Samuel Ramey, and Doral Moore; and paternal grandparents Beverly Cowart and Derek Payton. Anissa is also remembered by many extended family members who held hopes for her future.
Anissa has joined her fellow angels in heaven: great-grandparents Elnora Cowart, Audrey Ricard, Earl Payton, RT Cowart, Olivia Traylor, Janis Trusty, Karen Hilton, Robert Traylor, and Hobert Ramey; as well as her uncle Nathanial “Boobie” Cowart.
Though she may not have entered this world in a traditional way or stayed as long as we dreamed, Anissa is forever a part of the Ramey-Payton family. She has already made us stronger—our light in darkness and our purpose to move forward. Today we are not saying goodbye but rather “until next time.”
We were unable to bring Anissa home in the way we imagined—but we are grateful that she was brought home to rest among family. She will always be loved and cared for—both earth side and heaven bound.
Anissa is our forever baby—our own personal guardian angel. We will love you forever. A Funeral Service will be held on February 15, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Craft Dillon Ginn Funeral Chapel 219 Hwy 98 west
