Background
We are planning a ‘balloon release’ ceremony and memorial service for Angel coming in the fall of 2020 at McCormicks Creek State Park, located in Spencer, Indiana.
McCormicks Creek State Park was a favorite family gathering place where Angel loved to commune with nature and in particular, loved the waterfall located at overlook point within the park. Her family spent many weekends utilizing the parks cabin rentals and also loved to hike the nature trails.
We will be having a catered event in September 2020, the date will be made available closer to the date of the event so please check back frequently.
We are encouraging everyone who knew and loved Angel to honor us with your presence and invite You to personally attend to to release a commemorative balloon with your special message to send up to Angel in her memory.
In light of the tragedy of events that preceded and precluded her death, Angelica was quietly cremated, by a family member that took the liberty of assuming this is what her immediate family wanted. It however, was not.
I make no excuses for the behavior that was acted upon And carried out hastily by those that Angel did not even have a close Personal relationship with. All I will say is that it was an extremely traumatic experience, at a time when we were experiencing one crisis after another as a family unit.
We no sooner were able to process the painful death of her Grandmother, Loretta M Garrison the previous August, a difficult time for her that only added to her depression and the terrible events that led up to her death, to include the death of her step father, Shawn Cothron, the previous February, jus 6 short months before her own passing. We, as a family had just also welcomed her niece, Kiyah R. Fultz on September 12, 2016, and just as quickly had to relinquish her as a result of yet another tragedy, shortly after her Brother ( Dakota Gard) and Kiyahs Mother, ( Kallie Fultz)were severely injured in a car crash that almost claimed both their lives.
Angel was paid respect with a private intimate gathering allowing only immediate family in attendance.
Angels passing proved too much for those closest to her, after her passing, Angels mother suffered a small stroke and surrendered to the effects of mental breakdown and emotional exhaustion. Shortly thereafter, Angels Grandfather ( Dewey Garrison) passed away from complications of cardiac arrest, from which he never recovered, and he himself passed away June 13, 2017.
He was one of the people Angel was closest to and one she admired most. We would like to remember their loving relationship and ask that those of you that were unable to be in attendance at her initial service, to include her sibling( Dakota Gard),and step brothers and sister, (Dustin Cothron, Austin Cothron, Mason Cothron, and Meagan Cothron), to please accept our heartfelt apologies as we request you to attend this ceremony as a way of bringing the family together in order to help lift each other up in the memory of Angelica and those who have passed so that the family can bring peace and closure to rest upon our hearts and help lessen the burden from this incomprehensible sense of loss during this difficult time of rebuilding and restructuring our family.
