Andrew's obituary

Help Support the Family of Andrew Williams – A True Family Man and Dedicated Building Engineer

Dear friends, family, and community,

We come together today to honor the memory of Andrew Williams—a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Andrew was a dedicated building engineer who devoted a significant part of his life to the Lipscomb & Pitts building at 2670 Union Avenue Extended (now the Higginbotham building). More than a workplace, this building was his second home—a place where he found both purpose and community. Andrew loved that building, and in a way, it loved him back. He felt a true sense of belonging there, surrounded by colleagues who felt like an extended family.

Yet as much as he gave to his work, his greatest devotion was always to his family. His love for them knew no bounds, and they were his true pride and joy, the reason he worked so tirelessly and lived so fully. Andrew’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and resilience, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Andrew leaves behind his beloved wife, Crashunda; 1 sister, JoCleda; and his five children: Andrew (Kentesha), Angela, Tre'Tavia , Eriq, and his youngest, Aden, who is just 11 years old. He also leaves two cherished grandchildren, Aniya and Akira, 2 very special nieces Kavia and Morgan, his dear friend, John and a host of other relatives and friends. Andrew’s family meant the world to him, and he did everything to provide, protect, and care for them.

A Life of Resilience and Redemption

From an early age, Andrew developed a strong, self-sufficient spirit. Losing his mother when he and JoCleda were young, he quickly became a guiding force for his sister, doing everything he could to support them both—from cutting lawns in the neighborhood to selling popcorn door-to-door. That work ethic followed him all his life, making him the incredible man we knew and loved.

Though life had its challenges, Andrew showed resilience that inspired everyone around him. Despite setbacks, he worked tirelessly to turn his life around, becoming a role model for his family and his community. His journey is a testament to strength of character, as he grew to become a wonderful husband, father, friend, and the person his wife called her "Superman."

Andrew the Builder and Engineer

Those who knew Andrew will remember him as a true craftsman and problem-solver. With a love for woodworking, building, and repairing, he took pride in his work and found joy in fixing things. At the Lipscomb & Pitts building, he was more than just an engineer; he was a trusted friend to everyone who walked through those doors. You could always depend on Andrew to be equipped with his hat, flashlight, pocket knife, screwdriver, an impressive set of keys, and his favorite snacks and gum tucked away. No problem was too big for him, and his calm, steady presence will be sorely missed.

A Loving Father, Friend, and Family Man

To Andrew, family was everything. He was happiest when he was fishing, sharing laughter, or simply spending time with those he loved. He found joy in the simple things, from a comfortable jogging suit, to a quiet day with his loved ones.

How You Can Help

We are reaching out to the community for support in this difficult time. Andrew’s family is grieving a tremendous loss, and any contribution will help ease the financial burdens that come with this tragic event. These funds will go toward supporting Crashunda and their children, particularly Aden, as they navigate this challenging time.

Your support, whether through a donation, sharing memories of Andrew, or simply sharing this page, is deeply appreciated. Let’s come together to honor the memory of a man who gave so much to those around him and who meant the world to his family and friends.

Thank you for your love, kindness, and generosity. Andrew’s legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Family of Andrew Williams
