Andrew's obituary
Andrew C. Wendowski, a native of Philadelphia, PA, and resident of Katy, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 56 after a short illness. He was the loving son of the late Frances A. Wendowski, as well as devoted husband of five years to Amy J. Wendowski (née Helmus Kusiak).
Andrew was the beloved father of Andrew C. Wendowski (mother Christine Boden) and stepfather to Noah and Joshua Kusiak (father Paul Kusiak). He is survived by his brother, Stephen Wendowski. He was preceded in death by his brothers David M. Wendowski and Edward J. Wendowski, as well as his sister, Joanne E. Klose (née Lightcap Wendowski). Andrew's memory will live on in the hearts of his many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and co-workers.
Born on October 2, 1968, Andrew grew up in the Frankford section of Philadelphia and was a graduate of Frankford High School, class of 1987. He moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Katy, Texas, in October of 2019.
He was currently working as an Operations Manager at Drew Polymer Technologies and a former employee of Repeek Texas Plastics, Polymics, Quantum Plastics, Nytef Plastics and Global Plastics.
He was deeply committed to his family, friends, and his work. He cherished spending time with his beloved dog, Jasper, who was always by his side at home. A lifelong fan of Philadelphia sports, Andrew showed unwavering loyalty to teams like the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He also found joy in binge-watching shows like 911, Chicago PD, Gold Rush, and several others.
Andrew will always be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. He will also be remembered for his big heart and selflessness, always putting others first no matter the situation. During the holidays, he would go out of his way to prepare full Thanksgiving feasts for his co-workers and friends, complete with his family’s favorite homemade stuffing. At Christmas, he was known for his famous mini cheesecakes, which he would often make and bring as gifts for family and friends.
As Andrew often said, “live every day like it’s your last” and always remember “life is too short to sweat the little things.”
Friends, family and co-workers will be invited to a celebration of life memorial service in May of 2025 in Philadelphia, PA. More details to come as soon as we lock in a date.
