You were my first grandchild. I nervously and proudly held your tiny body in my arms, and it was instant love. You made me proud over the years of the person you became. Always loving, caring, and eager to share, always focused and playful, intelligent and rare. Our visits together were short but full of fun and love. I will miss you greatly, my forever grandson.

Like a bright star that lights up the heavens, so was Andrew Shrock in lighting up people’s lives.
Andrew was a joy to be around, always accommodating with a loving spirit. Andrew’s passion for life and living grew large and as he climbed his highest mountains, he did it with great strides and accomplishments. Andrew was smart, intelligent, and had great instincts; capitalizing on his passion for sports, Andrew was creative, inventing ways to show his talent, as his energy never stopped. Andrew loved his family and friends with all his heart, it was easy to tell. Andrew went above and beyond in everything he did and accomplished; he could have been anything he set out to be.
I am certain Andrew is checking in on his family and friends with his big, bright shining smile, in peace and harmony. The heavens above have one more shining star to light up the midnight sky.

I didn't know Andrew incredibly well, but even as little as I knew him, I knew he was kind, giving, and joyful.
The times I spent with Andrew were all uniquely fun and good-spirited. He had a direct warmth and positivity that was obvious to me.
My strongest impression of Andrew came from his enthusiastic support of my efforts to improve my health. Upon hearing that I was interested in being healthier, Andrew immediately volunteered to donate his time and knowledge to training me. It was during these few months of training that I first realized I had the potential to positively change my health, both physically and mentally.
Andrew's dedicated encouragement was critical to my development as a person, and I am certain I'm not the only one who was similarly uplifted by him.
I hope to, in rememberance, carry his spirit with me and honor his generosity by providing it to others as he did to me.
Thank you for everything, Andrew, and may you rest in loving peace.

Andrew, you brought so much joy, adventure, and positive energy into so many people's lives. I'll never forget the memories we shared throughout middle school and high school. You will be missed dearly, my friend.

Andrew,
On the first day of Kindergarten at Notre Dame, you were the first kid to reach out to me to comfort me because I was crying. You noticed that we both were fans of Toy Story (I believe you noticed my Toy Story shoes) and you asked if I wanted to play with your Buzz Lightyear toy. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Your thoughtfulness, and willingness to reach out to others to cheer them up, made being your friend such an incredible honor. The laughs you brought into mine, and so many other peoples lives are absolutely immeasurable. You truly are a one of a kind person. We have so many incredible memories together, when I sat down to write this I had trouble picking just a few to talk about. From the basketball teams, Sly park camp, riding your custom Shrock'D longboards, camping, paintballing, the sleepovers, trips up to Dunsmuir, watching you put the largest subwoofers you could fit in your car, the years together at Notre Dame, mobbing around Vacaville in your jeep, navigating being the new kids together at Jepson Middle School, go-carting, the 7/11 free Slurpee day runs, ditching class to get in-n-out, your "Billy Mays Nicho" presentation in Mrs. Gittings Spanish class, you, me and Mikes first big-boy trip to the movie theatre without our parents (we were only 12 I cant believe they let us do that!), you visiting us up in Chico for Halloween, late night Taco Bell or McDonalds runs, getting in trouble in any class we had together for talking and laughing, driving to the top of the world crammed in the Buick, getting kicked out of Walmart for playing hide-and-seek, and just any shenanigans or trouble we were able to put ourselves into whenever we hung out together. I often find myself randomly smiling, thinking about the old days, or laughing when a funny picture of us pops up on my phone that brings up memories of a random night we had together in the man cave. I love you so much man. You will be missed so deeply by me, and so many others. You put a smile on the face of anyone who had the pleasure of meeting you.
To the Shrock Family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and in my heart.
Love, Nick

I’m so deeply sorry and saddened by Andrew’s death. I will remember him as always smiling, designing and building awesome longboards when he didn’t seem old enough to know how to do that, and enjoying his time with his family. He is in my thoughts and prayers, as is the whole extended Shrock family. I pray that you can find some peace and that Andrew is now watching over us all.
