Andy's obituary
Andrew T Moss
September 25th, 1975 -January 8, 2024
Andy said it best when he wrote of his retirement and of his life:
“Hanging up the boots today for good.
Today is a sad day for me. I unfortunately have been battling Stage 4 Colon and Kidney cancer since the end of 2019. I fought hard and never gave up. I can say cancer did not win because I was fortunate enough to stick around a little longer than expected thanks to my number one advocate, my wife. That time has been well spent with family and friends.
I’ve honorably worked for the US Government for 20 years and the Department of Defense has approved my Early Retirement/ Disability. My career started at 15yo working at local car wash. After graduation I joined the US Navy and from there I spent 13 years with Department of Commerce (NOAA) in my dream job following in my father’s footsteps traveling the coastlines of this beautiful country. I then spent some time in the private sector on the east coast until joining up with the Department of Defense (DoD) in 2019.
To sum up my career and life I can say my greatest accomplishments are my three beautiful kids.
Life can end up being short, so be sure to let family and friends you care about know how much you love them every chance you get. Take care of yourselves and be kind to everyone you encounter in life.
Take care,
Andy Moss”
Andy is survived by his beloved wife Mandy, his son Ocean, and his daughters Thia and Leilani; his mother Marquita Moss, brother Charlie (Denise) Moss, sister Malia (Anthony) McDermott, his in-laws Terry, Joy, Nick(Tiffany), and Jeff Linville who consider him a son and brother, and many nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as his devoted pups, Thunder and Juneau. He is preceded in death by his father Mickey Moss.
Andy will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and ineffable love and devotion to his family.
