Andy's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew "Andy" McGeehin III, on November 25, 2024. Born on July 29, 1946, Andy will be remembered for his unique personality, laced with humor and a touch of gruffness. He carried these traits throughout his life, endearing him to many and making him a memorable figure in the hearts of all who knew him.

Andy leaves behind a legacy brimming with love and laughter. He taught us invaluable lessons on how to show tough love and the importance of learning to laugh at oneself. His teachings will live on as a testament to his character, and his wisdom will continue to guide us through our own journeys in life.

He was larger than life in the world of sports, dedicating many years of his life to coaching basketball, football, and golf. Those who had the privilege of being coached by him understood that his accomplishments went beyond winning games. His true victory lies in the countless lives he impacted, helping shape many young individuals into disciplined and well-rounded people both on and off the field.

Andy could often be found at his favorite local watering holes, the Jordan AC and Hogan’s Social Club. He will be missed by all of his friends and golf buddies.

He was the son of Andrew Jr. and MIldred (Murphy) McGeehin. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda and his sons Andrew IV and Patrick. He is also survived by his siblings Eileen (Tim), Mary (Paul), Catherine (John), Michael (Rose), Thomas (Kathy), Jeffery (Debi) and many nieces and nephews.

In his memory, let us remember to live life with laughter, honesty, and a never-ending zest for learning. His life serves as a lesson for us all, encouraging us to be authentic, resilient, and to always find a reason to smile, even in challenging times.

May his soul find eternal peace and may his loved ones find comfort in the memories they shared with him. Andrew "Andy" McGeehin III, you will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
