Dear all,

It has been three years... hard to believe, impossible to comprehend, and "get over". The loss and hurt are still there, but somehow through the grace of God, we can move forward. We counted our blessings - life with an incredible man, husband, friend, and a father - a true gift! He taught us many lessons - one of them is to live a life of service to others. I uploaded some images of our mission trip to an orphanage in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria, in the summer of 2023.

Looking back, I am deeply humbled and thankful for the support of this community! We could not have survived without your help, thoughtful notes, and warm meals. We appreciate you ALL!

Looking forward, we dedicate ourselves to a life of service, just like Andrew would have wanted. We want to continue supporting the orphanage in Dupnitsa and raising funds for much-needed repair and maintenance. Please consider checking out our campaign:

Update from Jan. 26, 2026

Dear all,

Thank you for your donations! We were able to meet two of the most urgent needs of the Dupnitsa orphanage for special needs children: 1) an old, low-quality floor, and 2) wall damage. We gathered bids from several construction companies and decided to award a contract to a company employing Bulgarian gypsies, as these hard-working people need an opportunity to do honest work.

The next two needs we are going to address in the spring are the falling-apart cabinets and the outside playground area. We received bids for $6,000. Now that Bulgaria has adopted the euro, I expect prices for everything, including construction, to go up.

Andrew Lock passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the age of 43, at his home in Annandale, Virginia. Andrew was born to Dale M. And Rebecca Wier Lock on March 1, 1979, in Canton, Illinois. He graduated from Porta High School in 1997, having participated in marching band for six years.
