Andrew's obituary
On the morning of August 25, 2025, Andrew J. LaMarche, Jr. passed away peacefully after a valiant struggle with vascular dementia, enveloped in the love of those who held him dear. Andrew honorably served in the United States Air Force, dedicating himself to his country with pride. He was a cherished member of the North-South Skirmish Association, where his passion for history and camaraderie shone brightly. An avid archer, Andrew’s skill and dedication earned him several gold medals in the Maryland Senior Olympics, a testament to his competitive spirit and love for the sport. He was also a respected brother of the Bonnie Blink Daylight Lodge #1 and Corinthian Masonic Lodge #93, where his kindness and integrity left a lasting impact among his peers.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Charlotte LaMarche; his sons, Andrew and Reginald LaMarche; and his siblings, Sandy and Stephen LaMarche. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Pamela LaMarche; his children, Diane Whitlock, Karen Rayes-Romero, Charlotte Shaffer, Dale LaMarche, and Tommy LaMarche; his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Melvin LaMarche, June Horney, and Denise Uhrin.
We express our heartfelt and profound gratitude to the compassionate team at Gilchrist Hospice for their exceptional care and unwavering dedication during his final journey. Their commitment to providing comfort, dignity, and respect not only eased his journey but also brought solace to our family during such a challenging time. The kindness, professionalism, and genuine empathy shown by the staff will forever be remembered and deeply appreciated.
In keeping with his wishes, the family will honor Andrew’s life privately.
