Andrew's obituary
Andrew Ferren, 70, of Middleton WI, passed away comfortably Saturday evening, January 21, 2023. Andy was born on April 14th, 1952 to Henry & Margaret Ferren in Chicago Illinois. Andy excelled in school and graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business.
Andy married his “first wife” Julie Ferren on October 21, 1978 in Deerfield, IL and they maintained their love story for the next 43 years together. Andy was a die-hard Cubs Fan that truly bled Cubbie Blue. It was a joy for him to watch the Cubs Win the World Series in 2016 with 3 generations of family members in the same room together.
Andy was a Horse Racing Fan, a Cubs Fan, and a Bears Fan, but his #1 Favorite Team was his Family. He always enjoyed showing up and cheering his kids on for any sporting event including Track, Baseball, Football and Basketball. He enjoyed barbecuing year-round (Shish Kabobs) and having late night conversations with his children and giving out advice when needed.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents Henry & Margaret and his wife Julie. Andy is survived by his children John (Jacko-Karen), Tom (T-Bone), Annie (Cakes); brother Patrick (Li) Ferren, brother Mike Ferren; grandchildren Kale Scheffler, Logan Scheffler, Abby Ferren and his little rascal Campbell Ferren, along with nieces and nephews Matt (Lenni) Ferren, Drew (Krystal) Ferren, Katie McGlauchlin, Mimi McGlauchlin, Mikey McGlauchlin, Eddie McGlauchlin, Keke Roberts and Danny Roberts and a small number of close cousins.
Andy worked for the Northbrook Post Office for 36 Years. He retired in 2013. During retirement he enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bears, Horseracing and picking up Campbell from school and taking care of Julie. During his last goodbyes, he never lost his sense of humor and managed to give one last Double “Bye-Bye” to his children.
A celebration of Andy’s life has been planned. It will be held on Sunday, June 4th from 11:00am-2:00pm at Hackneys on Lake at 1514 E Lake Ave, Glenview, IL 60025.
