Obituary for Andrea Paulette Stevens

July 15, 1935 – November 2, 2025

Andrea Paulette Stevens, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted woman of faith, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on July 15, 1935, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Andrea was the cherished daughter of Mary Gallon and Henderson P. Jones. She was one of five girls and, with her passing, joins her sisters in eternal rest as the last remaining among them.

From a young age, Andrea’s life was firmly rooted in her Christian faith. She was a lifelong church member who rarely missed a Sunday. Even in her later years, as her health declined, she remained steadfast in her devotion—attending online services faithfully throughout her courageous battle with cancer. Her unwavering spirit and love of worship inspired all who knew her.

Andrea shared 42 beautiful years of marriage with her late husband, William Stevens. Together, they built a loving family and a life rich with joy, dedication, and faith. She leaves behind three children who were her pride and joy:

• Bonnie Morgan, married to Foster Morgan, and their daughter Serita Morgan;

• Anna Stevens, and her two children Neshawn Hayes and Derick Hayes;

• Dedra Kennedy, married to James Mike, and their three children Jamal Jackson, Santoya Jackson, and Dekia Jackson.

Andrea was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness.

For 30 years, Andrea served the Broward County School System with dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the students and community she cherished. After retiring, she continued to play an active role in her community, giving generously to local charities and always seeking ways to uplift those around her. Her heart for service was matched only by her love for adventure—Andrea delighted in traveling the world and embracing new experiences whenever she could.

Andrea will be remembered for her grace, her strength, her laughter, and most of all, her enduring love for her family and her faith. She touched countless lives and leaves a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion.

She will be dearly missed and forever loved.

May her soul rest in eternal peace
