Andréa Tyler Lucas
Andréa Tyler Lucas, 78, was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Touro Hospital.
Andréa was born on March 8, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She was one of four children born to Solomon M. Tyler and Alice Nelson Tyler. Andréa was a graduate of Xavier University Preparatory High School (The Prep) and attended the University of New Orleans and Xavier University.
Andréa was united in holy matrimony to John Vernon Lucas, Jr. To this union three children were born: Andréa Lucas Bercy (Walter), Tracey Lucas Williams (Timothy), and John V. Lucas III (Termica).
Andréa was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Lucas, Jr., her parents, Solomon Tyler and Alice N. Tyler, her brother, Barry M. Tyler, and her brother-in-law Norman Palmer, Jr.
Andréa’s career began at Charity Hospital of New Orleans as an Executive Assistant to the Director of the Department of Infectious Disease Control. From there she moved on to become an executive assistant at J. Ray Mc Dermott, Inc. She retired after twenty years of service. After a brief retirement, Andréa rounded out her career as a Court Reporter for the Social Security Office of Appeals.
Though she retired, she did not stop working. Loving her family was a top priority, but she also loved the Knights of Peter Claver, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Original Exclusive Twenties, Social Aide and Pleasure Club, where she served as Chairperson of the Ball Committee.
Andréa joined St, Theresa Little Flower, Ct.52, Junior Division, KPC, LA at the age of ten. She served as Jr. Grand Lady and Recording Secretary. At the age of eighteen she transferred to the senior division. As a member of St. Theresa Little Flower, Ct.52, she served in the following capacities:

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, John V. Lucas III (Termica), her daughters, Andrea L. Bercy (Walter), and Tracey L. Williams (Timothy). She also leaves her sister, Jhana T. Palmer, and her brothers, S. Gregory and David Tyler, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nephews, relatives and friends.
