Andre's obituary

Andre was born on June 15th, 1947 in the small hillside village of Bukkzserc, Hungary. As a child, he and his parents, Andras & Julianna Kerek, made a daring escape from the Soviet occupied nation. The family found refuge in London, UK where they spent several years calling it home. After the birth of Andre's only sibling, Eva; the family decided to pursue the American dream. They immigrated to the states and settled in Columbus, Ohio. The Kerek family spent the next 20 years establishing themselves as Americans. Andre enjoyed playing chess, and won several state tournaments during his high school years. He even had the opportunity to play against the great Bobby Fisher during a tour. Andre became a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed watching the football and basketball games with his father. Life was great in Ohio but the winter months didn't sit well with Andre's parents. Andre and his family made one last move down to South Florida where he would meet his future wife Laura. In Miami, Andre would marry and establish his family, having two sons, Paul and Christopher.

Andre was a devoted husband and father to his family. He was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his sons, and wife and always tried his best to support them. Andre was also a passionate song writer and could often be found writing music at his desk at home. He produced many songs in which he won several awards through songwriting competitions. Anyone who knew Andre knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Andre was predeceased by his father Andras and mother Julianna. He is survived by his wife Laura, sons Paul and Chris, daughter-in-law Rosie, granddaughter Olivia, grandson Brayden, step grandson Jayson, sister Eva, brother-in-law Michael, and two nieces Jessica and Jennifer. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, to make a donation to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his memory.
