Anastasios's obituary
Anastasios Economopoulos was born in Athens, Greece in a taxi cab underneath the Acropolis to Kriton Economopoulos and Elisavet Megaloikonomou on November 26, 1951. He went to high school in Athens, Greece and completed technical school as a mechanical engineer. He worked as a mechanical engineer making glass storefronts and mirrors for Colonial Glass for many years. If you ever pass by Cartier on 5th avenue in Manhattan, take a look at his handy work. More recently, he helped run Mr. Glass Tempering.
He enjoyed soccer games and watching his grandkids grow up. He was a member of The Greek School of Plato board in various roles, from secretary to President of the Board. His firm belief in education and personal growth was what drove him to keep The Greek School of Plato thriving even after his children graduated. He even lived to see his own grandchildren attend the school with so much pride.
Anastasios is survived by his wife, Joann (Yianna), daughters, Elizabeth and Angela, son-in-laws George and Francesco and his grandchildren Nicholas, Alexander, Anastasio, and Zoe.
