Amitava's obituary
Amitava Gupta, 75, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on September 08, 2022, by far the most noteworthy death to occur on that sad day. A brilliant scientist and above-average bridge player, he studied polymer chemistry at Cal Tech; his contributions to both the American space program and to spectacle lens technology that has improved, and will continue to improve, the lives of millions around the world, were substantial.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and three grandsons.
