Amelia's obituary
In memory of our beloved Amelia
Amelia passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 49 due to a brain injury. She was surrounded by family and friends during her final weeks and felt the love and support from those closest to her.
Amelia Ann Johnson was born to David and Cherril on December 14, 1974, in Calcutta, India. She immigrated to Daly City with her family in 1980 and spent most of her life there. She attended Our Lady of Mercy and Westmoor High School.
Amelia was passionate about art and expressed her creativity through various mediums such as resin crafts, painting, pencil sketches, fashion, and makeup. She enjoyed old-school horror films, music spanning from oldies to R&B and rap, and recently found joy in gardening and DIY projects.
Kind, friendly, feisty, and generous, Amelia had a laid-back attitude and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Her sense of humor, marked by silly words, dances, and stories, will be fondly remembered.
Amelia is preceded in death by her father David, who passed away on February 22, 1994, and her uncle Jonathan Johnson on February 13, 2008.
She is survived by her longtime partner, Jorge Roldan, her mother Cherril Gallagher, little sister Allyssa Drew, older brother Steffen Johnson, and aunt Jennifer Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, on April 3, 2024, starting at 10 a.m. Following a short reception, we will proceed to Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, where Amelia will be laid to rest with her father in the area of Saint Rose of Lima 10-110.
Flower donations may be sent to the mortuary, and monetary contributions can be made to the family through everloved.com.
Heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at San Francisco Zuckerberg Trauma Center ICU for their remarkable care and compassion towards Amelia. We also extend our gratitude to all who visited, called, texted, and sent prayers.
