Amanda's obituary
Amanda Arlene Rose Davis, 40, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2025, in Portland, Oregon—the city where she was born and where she built her life.
Born on August 26, 1985, Amanda was a steady, quietly radiant presence. She had a way of offering kindness without fanfare and strength without insistence, touching the lives of others in ways that were simple, genuine, and lasting.
She shared a deep and enduring bond with her twin sister, Savannah Davis. Their connection shaped both of their lives, and Savannah will carry Amanda’s memory forward with the same love, loyalty, and understanding that defined their relationship from the start.
Amanda is also remembered with love by her father Gerald Davis, her brother Joseph Davis and her brother-in-law Robert Sherman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Davis.
Amanda is survived by her beloved golden retriever, Paxton. Joseph’s family has happily taken in Paxton who is adjusting well and has already become the best of friends with their own golden retriever, Henry. It is a joy and privilege to keep Paxton in the family where we can all extend Amanda’s adoration and hold onto someone she so passionately loved.
Though her life ended far earlier than anyone imagined, Amanda leaves behind a quiet legacy—moments of kindness, gestures of care, and the steady presence she offered so freely. She believed deeply in a more just and gentle world, and she worked toward it in the ways she knew best: through empathy, advocacy, and showing up for others. Those who knew her will feel her absence deeply, and will also find her in the memories that rise unexpectedly: a shared laugh, a familiar phrase, or a small act of thoughtfulness.
May her memory be a gentle light in the darkness for all who mourn her.
