Labelle, FL--Alta Ayers, a long-time resident of the Moore Haven area, died Tuesday the 3rd of December at the Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Alta was born June 19, 1934 to the late Lynn Miller and Linda Crans Miller. After graduating from Dundee Central High School she received her LPN license in nursing. On October 22,1955 she married the late Harvey L. Smith who passed away November 21, 1981. Alta worked at various elementary schools in the Gates-Chili school district.

Alta loved doing needlework, enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, socializing and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

Alta is survived by her husband, Harry Ayers, her daughters Lisa Brown, Lana Kuhns and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought joy to her in her later years.

Memorial gifts may be made to Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation in LaBelle, FL. Alta will be laid to rest in the Monongahela Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
