Aloha's obituary
Aloha, 70, of New York City, died unexpectedly on February 21, 2023, while in bed at her home. Aloha’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.
Aloha was born on March 09, 1952, to Iona Brown and Lawrence Lunsford in Brooklyn, New York. Aloha was passionate about arts, and crafts, crocheting, baking, cooking, and caring for and growing plants. She would often say "I'm good with my hands". Aloha spent her life working in the service industry rehabilitating the mentally disabled and serving as a correctional officer in the state of Georgia. Aloha also spent time volunteering for her church and assisting the youth ministry.
Anyone who knew Aloha knew she was a brilliant woman with a great sense of humor. She had an immense passion for caring for animals and spent the last years of her life with her trusted companion - German shepherd "fur baby" Lucy. All of her life Aloha rescued this breed of dog and cared for all animals in general.
Contributions in memory of Aloha can be made on the everloved.com website. A funeral service will be held on what would have been her 71st birthday; March 9th, 2023 at 10:00 am / 9 am viewing located at Purpose Life Church 4021 Flatlands Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234
You are more than welcome to come and pay your respects. Her home-going will be a celebration of life! Please wear a splash of blue!
