Low's obituary

Mrs. Low Rita Maddox Galbreath, age 87, of Sharpespur Community, died Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Wheeler County and lived in Montgomery County before moving to Sharpespur in 1949. She was a homemaker and a member of New Corinth Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and flowers. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson Galbreath; three children, Billy Franklin Galbreath, Gary Lee Galbreath and Dorothy Ann Galbreath; a grandson, John Galbreath; her parents, Homer Lee Maddox and Alma Lu Farmer Maddox; and her siblings Eugene Maddox, J.C. Maddox and Lois Maddox Grisham.

Her family includes four children, John Edward “Buddy” Galbreath of Sharpespur, Lilly Marlene Galbreath Wilhite and husband Jimmy of Glenwood, Michael L. Galbreath and wife Brenda of Vidalia and Randy P. Galbreath and wife Cristy of Sharpespur; one brother, Curtis Maddox and wife Betty of New Port Richey, Florida; seven grandchildren, Shawn Galbreath, LeShae Moore, Ashley Galbreath, Crystal Galbreath, Naomi Wilhite, Tori Galbreath and Gene Hester; long-time companion, Buddy Jordan of Baxley; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Thursday morning, July 14th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Randell Tarpley officiating. Burial will follow at Galbreath Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
