Allen Dale Strom passed away peacefully at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE on September 9, 2022 after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. 

Allen was born November 26, 1942 to Lyle and Judith Strom.  He grew up in Bloomfield, NE where he graduated from Bloomfield High School.  He went on to study Autobody Repair at Milford, NE instead of working on the family farm.  Allen married his first wife Peggy Langemeier on May 25, 1963.  Allen pursued a career in Autobody Repair and moved to Omaha, where he and Peggy raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Jill.  

Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, as well as a passion for bowling.  He was involved in several bowling leagues and shared that passion with his wife and daughters. 

After the passing of Peggy in 1989, Allen met and married his current wife Diane in March 1992.  They moved from Omaha to Florida where he spent several years working and enjoying the warm weather.  They moved from Florida and resided in Coralville IA for 10+ years, only to  move to Gretna, NE in August 2021 to be closer to family.    

Allen fought a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis resulting in many hospital stays.  Even when he didn't feel well, he still remained positive and treated everyone with kindness and compassion.  The nurses all loved him for his kind words and spunky spirit.  

Allen loved nothing more than to have visitors and share stories.  He loved to reminisce about old times and laugh at the memories.  

 He was a simple man with a huge heart!!  He will be tremendously missed.     

He was preceded in death by parents Lyle and Judith Strom, first wife Peggy (Langemeier)Strom, daughter Jennifer Varner, and brothers Lonnie and Norman Strom.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife Diane Strom of Gretna, NE; daughter Jill (Lynn) Schuetze of Springfield, NE; stepchildren Lori (Doug) Wendt of Gretna, NE; Michelle (Brian) Humphrey of Cedar Rapids, IA; Jeff Parker of Missoula, MT; siblings Darla Jacobs, Beresford, SD; Curt Strom, Bloomfield, NE; Janice (Will) Wells, Blue Hill, NE; Dan Strom, Lynch, NE; Merle (Michelle) Strom, Elk Point, SD; Wendell (Delores) Strom, Crofton, NE; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Per Al’s wish, he was cremated, and burial will be at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
