Allen's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Walter Murray. He departed from this world on October 28, 2023, at the age of 59, in LaPorte, Texas. Born on September 12, 1964, in Davison, Michigan, Allen was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Allen possessed a genuine and compassionate nature that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He epitomized the values of selflessness and compassion, always extending a helping hand to those in need. A pillar of strength for his family, Allen's unwavering support and devotion were a source of comfort during difficult times.
Allen found solace in the beauty of the natural world, particularly the tranquil melodies of the ocean waves and the majestic presence of whales. He dedicated himself to making a positive impact in his community, finding fulfillment in volunteering and serving others. He was a valued member of the Ryan White Planning Council of Houston. A cup of coffee became a symbol of his warm hospitality and a cherished opportunity to share precious moments with loved ones. Allen's heart overflowed with love, especially for the children he held dear.
Allen is survived by his parents, Shirley Murray and Lyle Murray, his siblings Melody (Paul) Delventhal, Tom (Lei) Murray, and Pam Murray, as well as his nieces and nephews Christine Murray, Jacob Murray, Emily (Justin) Prothe, and Megan Delventhal. He was also a proud godfather to Miranda Baker and shared a deep bond with his best friend, Denis Kelly. Allen will be dearly missed by everyone who’s lives were graced with his presence.
Allen is reunited in the embrace of his grandparents, aunts, and uncles and cousins who preceded him in death. Their spirits will forever watch over the family they hold dear.
