Allen's obituary

Allen R. Douglas passed away in his home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 74.

Born on October 24, 1947 to the late Sharron P. and Rodger R. Douglas and beloved by his companion of 13 years, Melissa Millar.

Allen was the dedicated and supportive brother of Stephen M., Nick (Rebecca), Trevor (Lauren), Kaleb R., Shirley(Michael), and Tara (Evan).

Allen was born in Mount Laurel, NJ before moving to Levittown,PA with his family in 1958. He graduated from Neshaminy High School and attended Hofstra University but shortly made his way back home. Allen always dreamed of becoming a doctor but after working with his father at a family friends garage, he picked up interest in mechanical work and found his passion is fixing things that are broken. He always said “you can do anything if you have the passion and drive”.

Allen was a respected member of the community and spent a lot of his time volunteering at local food banks. He enjoyed watching horse racing, repairing boats and cars, football, spending time with his grandchildren, and walks around his neighborhood with his therapy dog, Peppy.

Allen leaves behind his four children- Thomas P., Samuel R., Tiffany D., and Kathy R., many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service, celebration of life, and casting ceremony will be held at a later date. Friends and family will be notified of these changes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allen’s name to his favorite organization, Nor’wester Therapy Dogs, 485 Worthington Mill Rd., Richboro, PA 18954.
