Allan's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Allan Prentice, who departed this life on December 20, 2024. A reception to celebrate Allan's life will be held on January 4 at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home at 307 Riverside in Saint-Lambert. All who knew and loved Allan are welcomed to join us at any time between 10am and 1pm as we pay tribute to a man who touched many lives.

He was born to his parents, Campbell and Jessie, on December 4, 1945 and grew up in Clydebank, Scotland before moving to Canada in 1969, where he met and eventually married his wife Danielle in 1972. He joined Pratt & Whitney upon receiving his mechanical engineering degree from Concordia university in 1977, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2001.

Allan loved a good party and enjoyed writing, often expressing his perspectives and experiences through his words. He also had an eclectic taste in music - where one could hear a classic song by The Beatles followed by the latest song by Black Pink as he was filling the dishwasher at home. He loved British television, with shows like 'Would I Lie To You' and 'The Graham Norton Show' being amongst his favorites, and also had a great interest in current events and politics, often enjoying a good spirited debate.

Allan's passion for life, his family, and his hobbies were evident to all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we remember his laughter, wisdom, and his remarkable capacity for love. Allan, though not with us in body, remains in our hearts eternally.

Allan will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Danielle, his son Andrew, his daughter-in-law Xiaoyan, his grandson James and his brother Douglas. He was a pillar of strength for his family, who cherished his guidance and wisdom.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents and his cherished daughter Stephanie.
