Allan's obituary
In Loving Memory of Allan Dale McElwee
Dale, a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, brother and uncle, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord after a courageous battle marked by strength, resilience, and unwavering love.
For 62 beautiful years, Dale shared a remarkable marriage with the love of his life—an enduring partnership that was a testament to loyalty, laughter, and the kind of devotion that withstands the test of time.
A man of quiet strength and deep integrity, Dale served his country honorably as an Army Veteran. He went on to work as a security guard at General Motors, later volunteering as an EMT, and eventually serving with the Department of Corrections after retirement—always finding ways to protect and serve his community.
Dale had the soul of a craftsman and the heart of an athlete. He could fix anything with his hands—cars, tools, household projects—and still have time to lace up his sneakers for a game of tennis or head out for a round of golf. When illness made the golf course unreachable, he found new joy in the virtual greens of XBOX golf—proving that passion doesn’t end, it simply evolves.
Dale was more than just a man of many talents—he was a warrior. He fought through cancer with grit and grace and defied a debilitating muscle disease for years beyond expectation, driven by his legendary stubbornness and fierce will to live. Those who knew him best knew him as brave, determined, and full of quiet humor and love.
He was a man who lived with purpose, loved deeply, and never stopped fighting until the Lord gently called him home.
May he find rest, joy, and endless fairways in heaven. May his memory be a blessing, and may we all carry forward the strength and spirit he so freely gave.
