Allan's obituary
Allan Mitchell Kayne (FKA Keyne) passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on February 16, 2026 at the age of 82 years old.
Allan was born August 9, 1943 to Elsa and Stanford Keyne in Woodbury, New Jersey. The family soon moved to Pennsylvania and Allan grew up in Northeast Philadelphia. He was a proud graduate of Northeast High School and Temple University, where he earned his degree in Communications. He immediately put that degree to use in the advertising industry, making a name for himself specifically in the automotive advertising segment, representing dealerships all over the Greater Philadelphia region. Allan was best known for creating the well-known tag line, “Uh oh, better get Maaco.” He eventually opened his own advertising agency, USI Advertising followed by AdTrain. To know Allan was to know his incredible work ethic as a man who poured all of himself into his work and clients.
Allan met Simone Marcus and the two wed in 1973. Though the marriage ultimately ended in divorce 11 years later, it produced their two children, Sasha Rose and Liza Rachel. Allan was very present in their lives, attending their many sporting events, musical productions, school functions, graduations and weddings, and celebrating their many achievements.
Allan then wed Terri Margolis in 1989 and they had a son together in 1998, Adam Michael. Soon thereafter, they relocated to Palm Harbor, FL so that Adam could be raised in the Sunshine State. They were immersed in their temple Ahavat Shalom, Adam’s schools and his activities such as karate, until they divorced in 2013.
Allan was extremely proud of his three granddaughters – Sarah Elise, Natalie Reese and Brooke Avery. He enjoyed getting updates on their many accomplishments in school and in life and cherished his role as “Poppy” to them.
The only thing that meant almost as much to Allan as his family was his love of all things Philadelphia sports. He could almost always be found wearing an Eagles, Phillies or Sixers shirt or hat and cheering on his hometown teams with passion. In addition to being a huge sports fan, Allan also loved the warm weather and beaches, which helped facilitate the move to Florida.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents Stanford and Elsa and is survived by his daughters Sasha (Greg) Moon and Liza (Nick) Batinich and his son Adam Kayne; his granddaughters Sarah Moon (20), Natalie Moon (16) and Brooke Batinich (8). His children will hold a private remembrance for Allan. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society through his granddaughter Sarah’s personal fundraising page for Relay for Life at Florida State University. Sarah relays for her Poppy and now his memory. https://bit.ly/46dKEjp
