Alicia's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alicia "Lish" Spruell, lovingly known as Lish but preferring Alicia, on June 2, 2023. Born on February 20, 1968, Alicia left a lasting impact on the lives of her family, friends, and community.
Alicia is survived by her children: daughters Alanah Spruell and Alexis Spruell, and son Larrance Hickson. She is also survived by her siblings: Wendall West, Lionel West, Teresa Ellis, and Mott Spruell. Predeceased by her mother, Joan Spruell, her love and guidance will live on through her family.
A proud graduate of Burlington City High School, Blue Devil, Burlington, NJ in 1986, Alicia later enjoyed a successful career until she retired in 2011 from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.
Alicia had a passion for music, with a particular love for El DeBarge. Spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and creating cherished memories with loved ones brought her immense joy. She enjoyed walking and her favorite vacation spot was Jamaica. Alicia's favorite color was blue, reflecting her warm and outgoing personality.
Throughout her life, Alicia shared valuable lessons, encouraging those around her to love out loud and embrace life's experiences. As the founder of W.O.W Women of Worship, she made a significant impact in her community. Her legacy will live on through the love, faith, and respect she inspired in all who knew her.
Alicia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her life and influence. Although she is no longer with us, her kindness and warmth will never be forgotten.
