Alicia Miller was my elementary school gym teacher about 25 years ago (sorry to date both of us haha). I was never a very athletic kid, and yet she was the teacher I remember most from that time. She always wore a reddish/coral lipstick. Exercise through dance and play. There are songs I hear to this day that still make me think of her, or her kind voice and words of encouragement. Never was she pushy or demanding, only wanting what was best for us.
I will continue to think of her often and fondly. I'm so glad to have had such a positive force in my life while growing up. She truly was a mentor and a guiding light to so many of us in the community XOXO

Alicia adored her children and grandchildren and took such pride in them. Alicia’s passion and commitment to her students and her real skill in helping them develop as human beings was also remarkable. She left a mark on everyone who came into contact with her and will be missed terribly.❤️

My first memories about Alicia was her prescous Volkswagen she called it Herbie. Always going to the beach with Jane. And always playing Stana at Christmas. She loved get togethers with family and friends. Just like my Father loved barbeques. We have had are ups and downs over the years. I am the youngest out of the bunch. I will sadly miss her always I tend to look back at all the things she said I wish it could have been different but situations and Trauma related issues drove a wedge between us. I will forever love you. Until we meet again.

Alicia, I will always remember your warm smile and wonderful nature. You loved all living things and your actions always showed us that. You departed us too early but your friendliness and caring manner will always remind us of you. Rest well my dear friend and may the Perpetual Light shine upon you.

To have known Alicia Miller you were a lucky one, and I was lucky.
Alicia was not only my colleague, but my teacher and my friend.
Alicia was my teacher in 9th grade PE and made me love coming to class even then. She was so influential on me that I eventually became a PE teacher and I was lucky enough to work with her for the beginning of my career . She taught me everything I know about movement and Physical Education. Our shared love of PE along with all the laughs we had, generated a relationship that will resonate with me forever. Students that Alicia has had from all ages have reached out and said how much she has touched their lives in some way. Hopefully you were a lucky one, like me and so many others. Her positivity will shine through the hearts of all us this holiday season. We love you Alicia.

I am so sad to hear of Alicia’s passing. I enjoyed working with her and sharing stories about our kids. I’m sure her family will miss her terribly, but they’ll have wonderful memories to help fill the hole in their hearts.

I am so sorry to learn of Alicia's passing. She was a shinning light at Wilson School and I enjoyed working with her. She had the insight, knowledge and compassion to work with the regular population as well as the students with special needs. Nancy GABEL

There are many stories and memories that I could share about Mill (as I called her) but one that sticks with me is the year after she “retired” she started to sub as an aide in Wilson and of course I was astatic to have her sub in my classroom. She always had a fun game, idea or just mantra to share when she worked and this day was no different. She just got home from visiting her sister and she said “I have the BEST book to share with your class, do you have time for me to read it to them?” And I of course said sure! The book was called “Ball” and there are not too many words as it is a story about a dog who lovessss this red ball and the joy she had on her face about how much this dog loved and look forward to playing ball was just priceless. That is how I will remember her always and that love the dog had for that ball was how Alicia felt about Wilson and her students and friends. She always empowered, built up and made children feel loved all the time. I will continue to do that every day in her honor, Mill you will always be in my heart 💔 ❤️

Alicia was our angel on earth. She was kind, loving, caring and giving of herself in so many ways. I can’t even process that she will not be here for the text or phone calls we shared as well as so many other friends she has had. She was the star that guided so many. Her laugh and her personality is as so infectious. Alicia was always there to help and just listen. She truly made all of our lives so much better. Miller as I called her, will always be in my heart and will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace my dear dear friend. I love you!

Heartbreaking! I remember some days we had gym 2 or 3 times already (from being good in regular class and getting rewarded with "extra gym" or class battles etc).. and we’d still beg for more! She put down any hint of bullying immediately and more importantly made it cool to be nice and support each other, she encouraged and brought out the best in the quiet kids, made everyone feel special, and really just made all of school and learning fun! All through middle and high school the “wilson kids” always had a special bond (and thank you to all the other amazing educators at Wilson school that let us spend so much time with her!) Such a special lady! 💔

Ms. Miller not only taught me all of elementary school, but she also taught my mom in her first few years of teaching and is a large reason why I became a PE teacher myself. She is my biggest memory of Wilson.

Mrs. Miller had such a huge impact on our son, Tyler over the past two years. He talked about her non stop and thought the world of her. She was in his classroom last year and every single day he would come home and tell another story about her! He especially loved all of the “stunts” that they did after lunch. She made school fun and he loved every minute that he got to spend with her. She also did so much to build his confidence and develop his leadership skills by asking him to be a leader for Brain Gym and help out at Sports Night. Tyler loved helping her with anything that she asked him to. I included a picture of the letter he wrote to her at the end of the school year. He truly meant every word.
We feel so lucky that he had the opportunity to get to know her and experience her humor, energy and kindness. We will be forever grateful for everything she did for him over the past two years. Our deepest condolences go out to all of her family and friends.

She had a very special connection with our daughter. Always made her feel important and so special. She will truly be missed by her and so many. Thankful our daughter had the chance to know her and be her student.

All three of my
children were so fortunate to have Mrs Miller in their lives. One of my sons said she always sang “Hands Up” to his class and my daughter loved her silly pranks. It broke their hearts to hear of her sudden passing. She was a lovely light in this world. Our condolences to her friends and family
