Alicia Jo DuBay, 56 Years Young, born in Ashtabula, Ohio is no longer in pain and suffering from her battle with cancer, and has joined Christ in heaven on January 10th, 2021.
She attended Valparaiso University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and was a proud sister of the Kappa Psi Omega sorority.
Her career was highlighted with significant contributions in the process controls industry, with the last 25 years working at ABB, Inc. Her main role involved marketing, business development and event planning for technical solutions which included traveling around the world. She is highly respected as a leader in her area of expertise.
Her immediate family includes husband John W. DuBay, step daughter MacLean E. DuBay, mother Judy Bauer, father Gerald Bauer (Deceased), her younger sister Katie DeRose and husband Doug and family. She was quickly welcomed and fit in perfectly with John DuBay’s family including John’s Father John Sr., Mother San Juanita (deceased), Sister Melinda, and his brothers Donald and Edward and all their spouses. Although Alicia did not have children of her own, her Shelties, Dallas and Austin are her babies.
Throughout her life, she lived in Long Beach California, Singapore, Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, and more recently Chagrin Falls, OH where she and John were married in the fall of 2007. In the summer of 2016, Alicia, John and Macie packed up and moved to Austin, TX where they enjoy the hill country, warm weather, and our home in a golf community.
There will be a ceremony to celebrate Alicia’s life at 2:00 PM EST in Church of the Holy Angels in Chagrin Falls, OH on Saturday, Feb 6th 2021. The address is: 18205 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. There will be more details regarding donations and a celebration after the ceremony provided soon.
