Mrs. Alice Thigpin, age 92, of Vidalia died Saturday, September 12, 2015. Mrs. Thigpin was born in Midville and was preceded in death by her parents, Sherrod and Victoria Barfield Faircloth, and her husband, Bomar Thigpin. She was a substitute school teacher in the Montgomery County School System for twenty years and was a member of Higgston Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Edith Thigpin of Vidalia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, with the Reverend Mark Jones, III officiating. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery, Vidalia. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, PO Box 2277, Vidalia, GA 30474, or a charity of choice.
