Alice's obituary
Alice Ann Stricker, beloved sister, aunt, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 78 years old
Born on October 21st, 1946 in Columbus Ohio, Alice was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Stricker. She grew up with a spirit of kindness, laughter, and faith, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Alice, known as “Sis” by her family and “Allie” by those closest to her, was known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, warm hugs, her no-nonsense professionalism as a long time medical nurse and caregiver, but mostly for her unwavering love and support for her family and friends in any and all circumstances.
She cherished her family deeply and found joy in enjoying Sunday dinners with them, traveling whenever she had the chance, going to movies and, of course, going to football games and supporting her favorite team, The Ohio State University Buckeyes, dressed to the nines in all her fan gear, and unapologetically cheering louder than anyone else around her. She was a source of light, laughter and comfort to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, John Stricker and his wife Janet Stricker, and their children, Christina Mabry, Rebecca Bickel, Matthew Stricker, Andrew Stricker, her brother Herman Stricker’s son Rodney Stricker, her brother James Stricker’s son, Kurt Stricker and her best friend, Jo Cox. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elizabeth Stricker, and her brothers Herman Stricker and James Stricker and niece Bonnie Keaton.
To her family, she was more than an aunt and sister, but a friend, a confidante, and a source of unconditional love and laughter.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 at 1:00pm at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 508 Moxahala Ave. Zanesville, OH. 43701. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association in remembrance of her.
Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her first love, Jesus Christ, and her life’s legacy will live on with all who knew her.
