Alice's obituary

Mrs. Alice (Falces) Rusch, 99, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Born on March 21, 1925, in the United States, Alice was the daughter of Filipino immigrants to Hawaii and was born on the island of Kauai. She graduated #1 in her class from Waipahu High School, Oahu, HI in 1943. Due to wartime travel constraints, she initially attended the University of Hawaii before finishing her studies at the National College of Education in Evanston, IL. She married Dr. Kenneth Rusch in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1946. Alice and Ken’s marriage lasted until his passing in 2011. They had three children: Susan Libertson (deceased), Robert Rusch and Richard Rusch.

Alice taught at Waipahu High School in Hawaii as a young woman, and later taught piano to young students in her Madison, Wisconsin home. She was very energetic and found great joy in gardening, cooking, and sewing. She had a deep appreciation for family and heritage, which she passed on to the next generation as a devoted and loving grandmother to five grandchildren. She was also able to spend cherished time with four great-grandchildren, three of whom survive. Alice’s legacy of kindness and her selfless dedication to her loved ones will be remembered by all who knew her.
