Alice's obituary

Alice Marie McDonough, 57, passed away at Central Island Healthcare on December 5, 2020. She was a resident for 4.5 years, receiving care during her battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Her family would like to thank the staff at Central Island for their love and support over the years. Alice was predeceased by her brother Frankie McDonough, and her parents, Maureen and John. She is survived by her two children, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Genari, her partner Frank Genari, her sister Kathy McDonough, her brother John McDonough, and her niece and nephew, Grace and Daniel Capobianco.

Alice loved Christmas and the holidays greatly. Whether the the gift was big or small she helped others believe in the magic of the season and beyond that, helped others believe in themselves. It embodies who Alice was, is, and always will be. When her son was 8, Alice formed a Cub Scout Pack giving Nick and his peers a place to learn and grow. That giving nature would be carried on to her service at Girl Scouts. From the office to taking her daughter Kaitlyn to Girl Scouts chorus performances, Alice was always there helping to instill courage, confidence, and character in her own kids and others. That’s the spirit her family and friends will remember her by. Her bright smile, booming laugh, and giving nature will be forever cherished and never forgotten. Contributions may be made in Alice’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Girl Scouts.
