Alice Mae Smith, 77, of Compton, California, passed away on November 14, 2023. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Bakersfield, California, to the late Archie Grissom and Versie Weekly. Alice dedicated over 35 years of her life to the United States Postal Service, where she retired. She was a humble, self-preserved, loving, caring, enthusiastic, understanding, and strong woman.

Alice is survived by her children, Josiah Smith Jr., Joann Smith, and JoTonia Smith, as well as her grandchildren, Alicia Weems, Markecia Jefferson, Mark Henderson Jr., Antonia Williams, Mya Smith, Josiah Smith, and Delvin Smith and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Versie Weekly, her father, Archie Grissom, and her son, Joseph Smith.

Alice found solace and community in her worship at New Holy Trinity Baptist Church. Her faith brought her comfort and strength throughout her life.

Alice Mae Smith will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
