Alice's obituary

Alice Mae Ankney, 91, of Bechtelsville, PA, passed away on January 27, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Alice was born on July 4, 1933 to Frank and Stella Sanders in Maryland.  Shortly after, they moved to Somerset, Pennsylvania.  It's there she met and then married Jack Ankney on April 3, 1951 and moved to Buffalo, New York. There is where they welcomed their beloved daughter Jackie.  Soon after they moved back to Pennsylvania.

Alice was a wonderful mother and wife who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She loved the water and you would often find her boating on the lake, collecting sea shells on the beach, or hosting family and friends by the pool.  Alice had a real talent for art and enjoyed painting portraits and landscapes.  She even used her artistic skills to make shoes for antique dolls. She had a love for animals and shared that love with the many dogs she owned over the years.  Alice was adventurous and loved to try new things even as she grew older.

Most importantly Alice loved Jehovah.  She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and belonged to the Boyertown congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses until she passed. Her faith and hope of the resurrection is what kept her going and what gives her family and friends comfort now.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, brother Dale Sanders and her husband Jack Ankney. She is survived by her brother Charles Sanders (wife Shirley), daughter Jackie Pallottini  (husband John), granddaughters Jane Pallottini, Rachel Pallottini,  Sarah Baldwin (husband Mark).

A memorial service will take place with family and close friends.
