Background
Ali and I went to Jr High and High School together. She was always so fun to be around, even throughout outbadult lives. She was always the life of the party, either she was laughing so hard you couldn't hear your own thoughts or she was yelling and fighting for what she thought was right. She was the mother of 4 beautiful children. 3 boys and 1 girl.
On August 24, 2022 Alis life was taken due to the reckless acts of another person. Someone decided they would get behind the wheel and drive intoxicated resulting in a crash and ending Alis life.
This individual was taken into custody for involuntary manslaughter with a vehicle and Marijuana possession.
Spent 4 months in county jail before being released. They get to see their family and friends everyday, they get to laugh and enjoy life. Ali doesn't, her kids get to grow up without their mother, her friends don't get to be overpowered by that beautiful smile and larger than life sparkle that was Ali.
To make matters worse, her family had her cremated, no service, no announcement, no social media post allowing her friends (her real family) to mourn her death and celebrate her life. Myself and another friend of ours only found out today if her passing after attempting contact for a year.
We have shared the news with our friends.
I want to give my beautiful friend the send off she so desperately deserves. She didn't deserve to be forgotten the way she was she didn't deserve to not have her life and accomplishments celebrated.
While doing this, I want to spread awareness not only of drunk driving but also the repercussions the ones who kill people with their selfishness don't have to face. This is the SECOND close friend I have that has been killed due to drunk drivers and the SECOND time that drunk driver was given a slap on the wrist, a few months in county, and a breathalyzer MAYBE.
I WILL NO LONGER NOT MAKE MY VOICE HEARD FOR ALI AND FOR MATTY!!
WHERE IS THEIR JUSTICE?!? WHERE IS THEIR RECTIFICATION?!?
