It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alfredo Torres, who left us on March 16, 2023. Born on September 9, 1975, Alfredo will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Alfredo is survived by his nieces, Brianna Martinez and his nephews, Leo and Cristova Martinez, as well as his brothers, Jerry and Patrick Martinez. In life, Alfredo was a caring and loving uncle, bringing joy to his family with his carne adovada egg rolls at birthdays and teaching them how to cook unique dishes. Serving as a loyal brother, friend, and confidant, Alfredo has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

Known for his funny, optimistic and caring nature, Alfredo enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as hanging out on sunny days and visiting his favorite spots, like California and the casino. In addition to his love of root beer, cheeseburgers, and the Miami Dolphins, Alfredo also held a deep affinity for the arts and culture, with favorites ranging from the music of SPM, Jelly Roll, and Los Lonely Boys, to any documentary films and television series that piqued his interest.

Alfredo's passion and dedication to fostering a loving and supportive environment are evident in the causes he cared about most, such as loving the broken. In both his personal and spiritual life, Alfredo demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his faith and shared the teachings of the Bible with those around him.

A shining example of resilience, Alfredo's greatest accomplishments include earning his high school diploma after having left school earlier in life. It is through these experiences and the lessons he shared—respecting others, treating everyone equally, and striving to be a better person—that Alfredo's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Alfredo "Joseph" Torres was not only a devoted brother, uncle, and cousin, but also a steadfast friend who will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him. As we mourn his passing, let us celebrate Alfredo's life and the lasting memories he shared with each of us. Rest in peace, dear Alfredo.
