Alfred's obituary
Alfred Saliba, 86, of Lakeland Florida and Waterford Michigan, passed away on March 12th, 2026.
Al was born on May 28th, 1939 to Nazzareno and Emily Saliba in Sliema, Malta. After graduating high school in 1957 he went to college at Lawrence Technological University. When he graduated he was drafted into the army, where he was a secretary to a general.
In 1965, he met Barbara O'Shea, and they wed in 1968 and started a family.
Al gave up corporate life, leaving a drafting supervisor position at Burroughs to become a residential builder. He spent over 50 years building custom homes for his family, friends and customers who became his friends. After retirement, Barb and Al hit the road and did some traveling. While exploring they heard about the opportunity to become volunteers at Sun N Fun. This was like a second calling. Al was a valued resource in the woodshop. They spent many winters avoiding the Michigan weather, working and enjoying the fellowship in the Florida communities.
Al was predeceased by his wife Barb and his daughter Kathy. He is survived by Lynn Saliba, Roger Saliba, Dan Saliba and Mary Rogers, her husband Bob and 2 granddaughters, Emily and Megan.
